What does the geopolitical situation in eastern Europe and the Sahel reveal about the crisis of capitalism and the danger of war?

Dominique Pagani starts from Prokofiev's fifth symphony, composed in 1944 amid the destruction suffered by the Soviet Union, then holds together two regions that the media separate: eastern Europe and the Sahel. For him, the same cold war pursues its adversaries there. He draws on a video in which Biden recounts how he had a Ukrainian prosecutor dismissed, and on a report showing the jubilation following the coup in Burkina Faso. From this he draws the question of the sovereignty of peoples. He connects this news to his title "Between crises and wars": war is the effect of crisis, and the tendential fall in the rate of profit leads capitalism to find no outlet but war. Answering questions from the audience (the Minsk agreements, jihadism, Covid, Nigeria), he denounces the use of identities that masks class struggle, then returns to the finale of the symphony.
