What was the target of the critique of négritude in "Négritude et négrologues"? How did Césaire and Senghor receive the book?

This session continues an interview with Stanislas Adotevi, author of "Négritude et négrologues" (1972). Dominique Pagani and the audience question him about the influence of Althusser and the École normale supérieure. Adotevi then recounts how Césaire and then Senghor received the book. In Dakar, Senghor agrees with him against the negrologues and discusses with him the civilization of the universal. A Senegalese participant contests the democratic image of Senghor by recalling the opponents he pushed aside. Adotevi maintains that Senghor is not a killer and that he remains different from other heads of state in the region. The session arrives at a definition of negrologues as all those who make négritude a business, at the idea of a négritude open to the universal, and at a political struggle against globalization that destroys man.
