Is Antigone the figure of the individual who opposes the state?

Dominique Pagani starts from the discourse against the state, common to both anarchists and the MEDEF (French employers' federation). He distinguishes the private, which deprives, from the public domain, which extends freedom. Following Michel Clouscard, he also distinguishes the state from the state apparatus: today the state apparatus grows while the state itself retreats in favor of the private. He then goes back over Hegel's relation to Antigone, from Tübingen to the Aesthetics and the Philosophy of Right, to contradict the image of an individualist, left-wing Antigone. In his view, the tragedy opposes two communities, the family and the city. He concludes that Antigone defends the private, that is, funeral rites and the sacred, when the state oversteps its own missions.
