Between roots and migration, between the measure of the inhabited place and the pull of the infinite, how does man find his place, while war looms?

Dominique Pagani starts from the actuality of war. He plays Haile Selassie's speech before the League of Nations in 1935, booed amid the indifference of the Western powers, and sets it against the honors now paid in Ukraine to those who rehabilitate Bandera. He then dismantles "the West" as a concealing concept and recalls, with Ulysses, the Western destiny of carnage. He then reads and analyzes Hölderlin's "In lovely blueness": the poem moves from the infinite of blue to the figure of man and to measure, illustrated by the temple at Cape Sounion, and ends on Oedipus, wandering and foreign in Greece. He connects this movement to man's migration and to the "nomad or sedentary" alternative in Nerval's Promenades et souvenirs. The session ends with a question from the audience: Perceval who does not ask the question, Joshua, and the doorkeeper in Kafka.
