What does the coup in Niger reveal about the situation in the Sahel and about the way Western powers wage their wars while managing public opinion?

Dominique Pagani starts from the news in Niger, which he had announced as the next country to fall after Mali and Burkina, and says he will speak less about Niger than about the region. He explains the title through the American formula for the Vietnam War, "yellowing the corpses": making Vietnamese fight against Vietnamese. The threat of an intervention by ECOWAS seems to him the same operation, "blackening the corpses," and he connects it to the war in Ukraine and to the speech of an American strategist. He then shows that, since the Enlightenment, public opinion has been an actor that must be reckoned with, hence the media silence on the Sahel. With his videos from 2021-2022 and reports on the Téra convoy, he criticizes the argument of the fight against jihadism and that of formal democracy. He concludes that it is the growing insecurity since the arrival of foreign troops that explains the coups d'État supported by the populations.
