What does money reveal about desire and self-knowledge, and why speak of a dialectic of matter rather than a dialectic of nature?

Dominique Pagani begins with a detour through coffee, from Bach's cantata to the cafés where the Revolution was prepared, then answers a question about a text by the young Hegel from 1805, the First Philosophy of Spirit. He reads there an anticipation of Marx: money is defined as "existing material concept" and "possibility of all things of need." Starting from the postulates of modality, he shows that money keeps desire indeterminate and makes it possible to defer self-knowledge; bourgeois civil society then becomes a wild beast to be tamed. He then answers a question on the dialectic of nature: he acknowledges a dialectic independent of man, but names it dialectic of matter, which he divides between natural matter and produced matter, and grounds man's difference on the tool and the social production of existence. He ends with a hostile question accusing him of recycling Nazi propaganda: he replies that the core of Nazi ideology is naturalist, and that environmentalism, together with neopositivism, serves as a lock on capitalism.
