How does the negation of the negation make it possible to understand individuality, labor, the struggle for recognition between master and slave, and the meaning of history as freedom?

Dominique Pagani starts from the negation of the negation, which he presents as Hegel's own contribution. He first draws it out in the theory of the will in the Elements of the Philosophy of Right: the abstract self and the finite character are two one-sided moments, and their synthesis, particularity reflected and thereby raised to universality, is individuality. He then applies it to the tool and to labor: they negate the negation that nature exercises upon man and produce a world. He then reads in the Phenomenology the struggle of self-consciousnesses: the relation to death, absolute master, founds the master-slave pairing, and the slave liberates himself through fear and through labor. He ends with the architecture of the system (logic, nature, spirit) and with the three forms of art, before concluding that Hegel lifts the aporia of the meaning of history by putting freedom in place of meaning.
